My Gods, I'm using my LJ!
I was tagged. See, that's really all I need!
Apparently I also need to include this description, because otherwise this meme would be very obtuse and indecipherable.
Once tagged by this entry, the assignment is to list 10 movies: your 5 Favorites & your 5 Guilty Pleasures. Then, pick 5 of your friends and tag them. No tag backs. This explanation should be included.
Favorites
1) Clerks, Clerks II, and everything in between. 2) Unbreakable 3) Donnie Darko 4) Almost Famous 5) Rushmore
Guilty Pleasures
1) Spider-Babe 2) Gia 3) Emmannuelle 2 4) Species 5) Paris, France
I was looking at my DVD list and even the movies I bought for very silly reasons, I still don't consider guilty pleasures... so the only real guilty pleasures are of course the movies I bought for breasts! And what spectacular breasts they all are. ;)
I'm far too lazy to use those LJ tags, so I tag Jill, Carmen, Megan, Rebecca and Plume.

NewsRadio icons, whooooooooo!!! Taken liberally from here, and I am extremely tempted to get a paid account right now just so I can use more of them... and heh, they're all so good I can't decide which should be the default one... LIFE IS SO FRICKING COMPLICATED, DAMMIT!

So while feeling like blogging but too lazy to write any actual posts, I started all of these last week, stolen from various folks, but then for some reason I don't remember I was prevented from finishing them. Had to call in sick today though, so while I'm at home resting I may as well throw 'em up there. Plus, I'm tired of watching DVDs, so staring at the computer screen will provide a nice change of pace, no?
Stolen from iamyourgoldfish.
# Who is #8 going out with?
Well... me. (And now it'll totally look like I fixed that, but I really didn't.)
# Is #9 a boy or a girl?
If she were a guy, she'd be a guy with totally huge knockers.
# Would #11 and #2 make a cute couple?
Well, see, #11? Is two people, Paz Lenchantin and David Pajo. That said, Roland has always been into the cute musician chicks, and ANY man with eyes and ears would go gay for Pajo, so I'm going to say yes, excellent couple they'd make. :)
# What is #6's favourite band?
Radiohead. Also, Air Supply.
# Does #1 have any siblings?
I believe he has one of each? But I'm far from positive.
# Would you ever date #7?
Yes, I feel a sure fire way for me to get more action would be to start dating lesbians. It can't fail, you see?
# What's #10's middle name?
Humphrey. I don't know!
# What's #5's favourite thing to do?
Write mindblowing music. And sleep with hot chicks. The bastard.
# Tell me a random fact about #11.
Those assholes broke up Zwan!! Just kidding. :)
# And #4.
This one time I asked her out, but she slapped me and said my arms weren't veiny enough for her. It was weird.
# And #3.
He played an even LARGER part in breaking up Zwan! Why Plume, why?? :)
# Where does #9 live?
Illinois. And I had no idea where Wooster was, but I just checked, so Ohio as well.
# What's #4's favourite color?
I was trying to fit another veiny arm joke in here, or perhaps a joke about Starbucks workers, but nothing really works. I have failed at life. *sobs*
# How did you meet #2 IRL?
I have yet to meet Roly in real life, but I do strongly crave a trip to England in the near future, so it might not be far off. However, knowing him he'll probably be busy with that icky Pajo and Paz threesome he has going... I swear, he's such a perv...
# Does #10 have any pets?
I don't think so. Why have the questions for #10 been so hardcore??
# Who on the list have you known the longest?
I'm not sure... I think I've been talking to Jill and Kurtis the longest. As far as in person, scarily enough, Megan.
# Who on the list lives furthest away from you?
I was going to say Roland, but I think it's actually Plume.
# Who on the list owes you a mix CD?
Jillian and Carmen, and heh Kurtis and I owe each other one from WAY back... I think that's it. I anxiously await them all.

Since _name_taken_ tagged me back on my last meme about books...
1. Total number of books I own: I have yet to catalogue them, so I don't know, but I'll say that my book collection is pathetic compared to my film/teevee collection. Though my collection of graphic novels is starting to expand, finally.
2. The last book I bought: An older edition of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game (trade paperback, not mass market paperback) that has a certain passage that was removed/censored in later editions. (It involved the word "nigger", but in a clever context that threw a character's racism back at him, and I enjoyed it in the edition of the book I first read at my high school library, not realizing until I read on the internet that the version I had actually bought didn't contain it.) Actually, they haven't arrived yet, but I also just ordered the audiobook of Sarah Vowell's Assassination Vacation and the trade paperbacks of the rest of the Ender series.
3. The last book I read: The last novel was the absolutely fucking brilliant Shadow Of The Giant by Card. As far as graphic novels, the seven volumes of Frank Miller's Sin City, Mike W. Barr's Batman: Son Of The Demon, and volume six of Greg Rucka's Queen & Country.
4. Five books that I read a lot: As is probably obvious, more than anything, I've read and re-read Orson Scott Card's Ender and Shadow series. There are a lot of graphic novels I've read a lot too, but yeah... nothing in any format will top the Ender/Shadow series and the limitless times I can read them.
5. Tag 5 people and have them put this in their journal: Considering the last time I tagged people it apparently caused them PHYSICAL PAIN, I'm going to go ahead and refrain this time. Whiny bastards, I swear. :)

A - Age you got your first kiss: December 31st in either grade seven or eight. Too lazy to calculate how old I was. B - Band listening to right now: Nine Inch Nails. You're shocked, I know. C - Crush: In real life, none. Celebrity, after watching NewsRadio again last week, my Maura Tierney love hath return. D - Dad's name: Anakin. E - Easiest person to talk to: I don't really have one at the moment. F - Favorite bands at the moment: Nine Inch Nails. Again, I'll wait for your shock to wear off. I've also been in a very Foo Fighters mood, no doubt in anticipation of the new record. G - Gummy worms or gummy bears? Gummy worms. So much more fun. H - Hometown: Toronto, Ontario. My first home was across from Fairview Mall, but I don't know what town that would be. I - Instruments: My 12-string acoustic guitar, though it's spent the last few months as an 11-string. J - Junior High: We don't have that junior high shit where I come from, boy. K- Kids: I don't really care how many, I just want a girl somewhere in there. L- Longest car ride ever: When we were kids my family went on a road trip all around America, so probably that. M - Mom's name: Padme. N - Nicknames: Nimmy-mesh which evolved from for some reason Mini-mesh, Mosh which came from a Spanish driver at work that could not understand that my name had two syllables, and Fishy, from my boss's daughter that likes Finding Nemo. O - One wish: It's a silent wish. P - Phobias: I'm afraid of phobias. It's a hard life. Q - Quote: Again, because of NewsRadio, I'm overwhelmed with quotes lately. "I read your book, you magnificent bastard!" R- Reason to smile: Right now I'm sick and still somewhat depressed, so bad timing, but... my tattoos, they make me smile. And lately despite my whininess and anxiety and whatever else it feels like when I hang out with my friends it all really does disappear, so that too. S- Song you last sang: Beside You In Time by NIN. T - Time you woke up [today]: Sick, so slept in pretty late... maybe one o'clock. U - Unknown fact about me: Despite my laziness, I have the physique of an Olympic body builder. V - Vegetable you hate: *shrugs* Anything can be good if cooked in an interesting way, and bad if cooked in a boring way, right? W - Worst habit(s): Procrastination, and the black tar heroin. X - X-rays you've had: I dunno. A few. Y - Yummy food: We've been eating way too much Thai food here lately, all of that has been good. And there's always fantastic Mexican food to be found at the right place. Z - Zodiac sign: Gemini. And while I don't actually believe in any of it, it's surprising how much it fits, sometimes.
Annnd that's all. I realize now that this should all be under a cut, but I'm going to have to come back and do that later, because I REALLY need to get back to bed right now. Damn you computer screen, you promised you would help, and you've only made things worse! (It would probably help if I would just actually remember how to do an LJ cut instead of always having to look it up which makes it such a chore, but...)

Because I was tagged by that darned spookster! :)
1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video: According to good ol' DVD Aficionado, 185. Though a great portion of that are box sets. The other portion, hardcore pornography.
2. The last film I bought: Film? The Life Aquatic. Or wait, The Fearless Freaks: The Wonderously Improbable Story Of The Flaming Lips. DVD? NewsRadio, Batman: Vol. 3, The Job, and two Mr. Show sets today. Yes, my fucking money disappears faster than I make it.
3. The last film I watched: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith.
4. Five films that I watch a lot: I actually don't do a lot of the rewatching anymore, but five films I've watched a thousand times? Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back!

No, not my period. Well okay, that as well, but time for me to make everyone feel awkward by posting another personal meme! Unless of course no one responds, in which case I'd be the only one feeling awkward, wouldn't I? Ha! Oh, wait.
I was going to cut this, but I just finished playing a relatively long game of poker after opening at work, so screw that, I'm going to bed. (See, because I don't use LJ enough to actually REMEMBER how to cut, so I always have to go check...)
1. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it. 2. Am I lovable? 3. How long have you known me? 4. When and how did we first meet? 5. What was your first impression? 6. Do you still think that way about me now? 7. What do you think my weakness is? 8. Do you think I’ll get married? 9. What makes me happy? 10. What makes me sad? 11. What reminds you of me? 12. If you could give me anything what would it be? 13. How well do you know me? 14. When’s the last time you saw me? 15. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn’t? 16. Do you think I could kill someone? 17. Describe me in one word. 18. Do you think our friendship is getting stronger/weaker/or staying the same? 19. Do you feel that you could talk to me about anything and I would listen? 20. Are you going to put this on your livejournal and see what I say about you?
Reply to this post and...
1. I will tell you what song reminds me of you. 2. I will tell you what celebrity/public/fictional person you remind me of, either personality-wise or looks-wise. 3. I will give you one word that I associate with you when I think of you. 4. I will tell you what colors I associate with you.
See? So even if you respond, I have to put some effort into it too... damn meme, twisting it around on me...

What do you mean there was another?
( An iTunes music survey. )
I like the answers a little more here than in my previous iTunes survey, because now that I have more songs ripped from my CD collection than just b-sides and concerts and the few purchased songs, it's a little more representative of what I actually listen to every day. And and and... same bat time, same bat channel. Which would make more sense if there were any sort of consistency to my posting...

If you read this, even if i don't speak to you often, you must post a memory of me. It can be anything you want, it can be good or bad -- just so long as it happened.
Then post this to your journal. See what people remember about you...

*loves my new 24 icons* Even though one of these days I'm going to get a paid account so I can actually make this place look good, and keep more than just one batch of icons. Sniff, there was a beautiful, haunting Ryan Chappelle icon I was so tempted to use but I couldn't think of which of these three to exclude... you have to have Jack, and a Tony/Michelle one, and hee Chloe is the comedy icon... there's no other option! One day, though.

In an idea solely my own and clearly not ripped off from anyone at all, and in an effort to post something on here, since I haven't been... my iTunes Top 25 Most Played List. Though I don't think it's wholly accurate, there are certain things I know I've played a lot that don't seem to be on here. (More than anything my library is filled with Pumpkins rarities and concerts, which is what I listen to most as well, but hardly any are on here for some reason.) Here it is, from most played to, um, least most played.
* Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlife - A3 * Bam Thwok - Pixies * Beethoven's Symphony No.7 in A, Op.92: 2. Allegretto - Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan In My Mind - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia) The Sun - The Flaming Lips (Peel Sessions '92) Jets Pt. 2 (My Two Days As An Ambulance Driver) - The Flaming Lips (Peel Sessions '92) Hit Me Like You Did The First Time - The Flaming Lips (Peel Sessions '92) * The Good Times Are Killing Me - Modest Mouse The Town Halo - A.C. Newman Sheep - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia) O Let It Be - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia) * Fisherman's Daughter - Daniel Lanois * The Final Countdown - Europe * Baby Love Child - Pizzacato Five Just To See My Holly Home - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia) Toxic - Local H (Britney Spears cover) Today - The Smashing Pumpkins (VH-1 Storytellers) Snail (Story) - The Smashing Pumpkins (VH-1 Storytellers) * Staring At The Sun (Demo) - TV On The Radio Jesus, I - Zwan (Live @ Galaxy St. Louis 04.07.02) and when the day arrives - aiua Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) - The Arcade Fire Same Song That Makes Me Laugh - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia) Arise, Therefore - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia) Pushkin - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Live In Ljubljana, Slovenia)
The * represents songs I've purchased on the iTunes music store, so hee it's good to see I'm getting my money's worth. There's a little more Bonnie 'Prince' Billy on there than I would have thought, but come to think of it that concert was one of the first things I downloaded here, so maybe it makes sense. And again, surprised by the lack of Pumpkins action, I would have thought some Mashed Potatoes or Metro tracks would have been on there. Hee, djaliplume, I'm pretty sure that Zwan concert I have was from Daily SP, right? You're the one that got me addicted to all this concert/rarity hunting. ;) Hmm, what else is there to say? I think it's a pretty cool list! Of course, it should be pointed out that even my most played track, A3's fantastic 'Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlife', has only been played 12 times. Even with what is apparently 3.22 gigs of mp3s (holy shit, how they hell did I get that many??)... ain't nothing gonna stop me from listening to my CDs. But I love iTunes, and I love being able to buy a song for 99 cents the moment it randomly pops into my head or I hear it on a teevee show or what have you... it's a great program. And, um, I'm going to go ahead and stop pimping Apple, since god knows they are already rich beyond belief, and have taken more than enough of my money anyway! Even if I'm so, so, so, so, so, so, so tempted to get an iPod.
*does love my mp3s, but strokes my CD collection* Oops, that's not my CD collection...

So, I only noticed that she added me as a friend a few days ago though I've been told she's been there for a while, and only TODAY found out who she was, but it should be pointed out that in the survey below I've also met the far-from-hard-on-the-eyes cola_addict in person. :)
Anyway, I don't want to post this on the blog, since truthfully I'm a little afraid of being mocked for believing in something that might be fake... but this link will take you to a short and VERY spooky video that'll definitely make you question whether ghosts are real or not. I guess it could be fake... but I want to believe.

Stolen from softfocus, though to be fair, she stole my dignity first.
Meme the first.
Date you joined: November 25th 2002, which warrants an equal holy shit from myself.
Number of journal entries: 103. And if you're wondering why you haven't seen 103 posts on here, nothing is being hidden from you, I just archived a LOT of e-mails on here privately once upon a time. Hmm, my LJ is called wonsaponatime, but I wrote once upon a time the correct way. How lame. Or perhaps it would have been lame to do it. Or perhaps none of this is lame, but I made it so by bringing it up in the first place. Yep, that seems about right...
Number of people on your friends list: 12.
Person who introduced you to LJ: Radhika and Gina's were the first LJs I read regularly, but Megan is the one that gave me a password to start this. And when you think about it, before that, I used to blog a lot, but once my attention was split between two different sites I could no longer focus and both of them suffered! Okay, I'm kidding, I just like to blame Megan for everything that goes wrong in my life. Did I mention that she caused 9/11?
Still friends with this person: I think so... now that I've revealed her direct involvement in a massive act of terrorism, I'm not sure...
How many people have you introduced to LJ: One. :)
List everyone on your friends list who you have met in person: I'm tired of doing the stupid LJ user icon things, so I'm just going by name. Megan, Carms, Micht, and Rebecca, Rebecca being the only one I knew "in real life" first.
Anyone on LJ you can't stand: Oh god, I fucking HATE [CENSORED], my rage boils for [CENSORED], that chick [CENSORED] is SUCH a whore, and [CENSORED] is clearly taking out his small penis issues on the world. ;)
Name one person on your friends list you would most like to meet: There's the obvious. Besides that, though, I would love to meet Gina and Radhika, because we would totally have fun hanging out together... and even though we've never really corresponded, Plume's diaryland journal has been one of my favorites for a LONG time and we also have something personal in common, so a part of me has always wanted to meet him (which I hope you don't think is weird, Plume). And this started while they were a couple but still continues, heh, I've always wanted to meet Kurtis and Maggie too. Which, lamely enough, is everyone on my friends list, so I may as well throw in David Pajo, since he's one of my idols. :)
Ever ban someone from commenting in your journal: God no, I say far too little on here for any of it to be controversial...
Biggest pet peeve about LJ: It has all these interesting features, and yet... it will never be Blogger, who forever holds my heart. My internet heart, anyway, which is located in my right butt cheek. At the same time, there's an addictiveness LJ has that won't let you escape, so heh, I can never let it be blank for too long...
Do you feel close to most of the people on your friends list: A good portion, yes... some I'm not as close to as I used to be, to varying degress of sadness.
How many journals on Live Journal do you have: You can have more than one?
Meme the second.
1. Who or what is on your computer's wallpaper? On the laptop, nothing, just the Apple wallpaper... on the old computer, a girl.
2. Go through your DVD collection. Which three actors or actresses feature the most in them? I am far too lazy to check... but wait, duh, I guess with my overwhelming amount of teevee shows on DVD, it would probably be David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, with the casts of Buffy and Angel closely following... as far as movies, I would bet Affleck and Lee from all the Kevin Smith movies.
3. Go through your book shelves. Which three authors have written the majority of the books? Orson Scott Card, Greg Rucka, and Stephen King. (Actually, Kevin Smith has more than King since almost all of my King books are still in boxes in the attic, but I'm getting back into the King universe at the moment, so I'll count him.)
4. And what about CDs? Nine Inch Nails (27), The Smashing Pumpkins (23), and The Flaming Lips (21).
5. Open up the picture folder(s) on your hard drive. Of which actor/actress/movie/tv series/musician do you have the most pictures? I have barely anything on this computer yet, but um let's see... I have one X-Files pic, two Smallvilles, and one painting of Superman... on the old computer it would overwhelmingly be The X-Files and Nine Inch Nails. And hee as for the celebrity collection, that got cleared out a long time ago, but at its prime I'm sure it was mostly Gillian Anderson and Drew Barrymore.
6. And what about your LiveJournal user pictures? So far musically Nine Inch Nails and The Flaming Lips, and teevee shows entirely Angel, but as mentioned below, it is now filled with that beautiful episode of Homicide: Life On The Street.
And since what I wanted to do tonight didn't work out, my resume is finished, and I think I know what songs of mine I'm sending out to apply for a job, I'm going to lay back and not think of a single thing, while watching that very episode.

New icons!
As much as I hated to get rid the three I had, I didn't feel like paying for an account at the moment, and super-nim just didn't seem appropriate anymore for personal reasons. (No, nothing happened to my cock... it's still fucking huge.) Sooo I went a searching, and lookey at what I found. :) Created by delectableoomph, all the icons are from the Homicide: Life On The Street episode Night Of The Dead Living. More to be found there, I loved the icons and I wish I could have used more, Kay Howard looks absolutely beautiful in the second icon in the third row, and I would LOVE to have used the Bayliss/Pembleton icon with Bayliss' wicked grin (second icon, fourth row)... but hee, I think I chose the best three, and I intend to rotate them anyway. I know, I know, I'm talking way too much about a buncha silly icons, but I've been getting back into Homicide lately and those were the only icons I found for the show, so I'm thrilled they turned out to be that good. The episode is such a tremendous one, as if its sole purpose is to leave you feeling good, but not in that corny teevee way... in a real way. And considering the title of the show, you tend to enjoy the lighter moments and breathe them in. :)
Anyhoo, about the paid account thing mentioned above, I could easily afford at least the two month option, but since I've been using the blog more lately and not popping in here so much I don't know if it would be worth it... now that I have the option I'll see how much I use the LJ and decide, though. It would be nice to spiff up the design of this place. :)
Oh, and since I don't have anything to blog about today, I'll say it here... happy 1013, everyone.

Welp, I hate LJ cuts, but it would probably be unfair to not cut this.
( Survey goodness. )
As mentioned, that was actually a lot of fun, until the end there. It was all about the arts until it became all fluffy in the last category, but oh well, still quite good. And finito, because this has been going on for way too long, AND been keeping me from my nice new Futurama DVDS! :)
